Cannabis Edibles Muskegon Michigan

Michigan Cannabis Edibles We Love: Timber Staff Picks

We had our Muskegon budtenders pick their favorite edibles to help you ease into 2021.

It’s hard to prevent 2020’s stress from bleeding into 2021. After all, the pandemic is still raging while civil unrest escalates.

Your body and mind could probably use a break. And with the respiratory concerns linked with smoking and COVID, it might be a good time to give your lungs a break too.

Fortunately, edibles are an excellent alternative to inhalable cannabis. Michiganders have increasingly gravitated toward edibles since the pandemic started because they’re easy on the lungs and also because they offer a different cannabis experience.

Since more of our Muskegon dispensary customers are interested in edibles, we thought it’d be helpful to have our budtenders pick their current favorites. Here’s what they had to say.

1. Sasha – Short’s Brewery Soft Parade by Jolly Edibles

“I started with a Soft Parade microdose. It hit faster than most gummies, but I was able to achieve a nice buzz that allowed me to vibe out without feeling intoxicated.”

Dixie Tropic Twist Gummies Pouch

2. Craig – Dixie Tropic Twist

“I love the flavorful taste of Tropic Twist! The extended high was mellow, and the packaging is easy to open, but it still keeps Dixie’s gummies fresh.”

3. Bri – Wana Blueberry Indica Gummies

“Wana’s Blueberry Indica gummies left me feeling euphoric, and I didn’t’ want the feeling to end. The gummies have a pleasant aftertaste that matched the effects. Wana expertly indicates each strain: blueberry is indica, mango is sativa, and watermelon is hybrid. I don’t always do edibles, but when I do, I take Wana!”

4. Kaleigh – Dark Cherry Midnight Bar

“The sweet and delicious Dark Cherry Midnight Bar melts in my mouth and benefits from its atypical cannabis flavor. The relaxing high left me feeling couch-locked, which was perfect for a day off. I only needed one piece to extend the effects of flower.”

5. Kristen – Motor City Sour Drops

“Sour Drops are some of the best gummies I’ve consumed. They’re the perfect entry edible for new Michigan dispensary customers. The 5 MG dosage makes microdosing easy, and the flavor burst reminds me of the candies I’d eat as a kid!”

6. Dwan – Monster Medibles White Strawberry Banana

“Monster Medibles White Strawberry Banana gummies are incredibly delicious with no cannabis taste, and they come in a pack of two 50 MG pieces – but the effect felt much stronger! These gummies left me super relaxed with a chill body high, but I didn’t get a crazy head buzz. These gummies even gave me the giggles!”

7. Brandy – Fwaygo Frozen Cherry Slushy Indica

“The flavor of Fwaygo’s Frozen Cherry Slushy Indica gummies is spot-on and actually tastes like a frozen cherry slushy. They’re great to eat before bed and helped me fall asleep without the aid of any other medications.”

8. Jeff – Sea Salt Caramel Terra Bites by Kiva

“The smooth, sweet, and salty taste of Kiva’s Sea Salt Caramel Terra Bites were fantastic, with little cannabis flavor. These edibles taste amazing frozen, and the small dosage compliments and extends the high from flower (if you choose to consume both ways) Plus, the packaging is small and discreet for easy transport.

The Ten Products Timber Budtender’s Love Right Now

Here are ten products curated by our Muskegon dispensary budtenders to help you get through this unusually challenging holiday season.

This year’s holiday season is unlike any other. It’s a perfect storm of anxiety when the usual holiday stress meets the global pandemic.

And 2020’s psychological challenges are apparent in current mental health statistics.

According to Mental Health America, nearly 45 million American adults are experiencing mental health issues, and of the 45 million, 4.38% are experiencing severe mental health illnesses.

Today, we see nationwide spikes in depression, anxiety, and loneliness, and it’s easy to understand the reasons: we’re social creatures, and social distancing has everyone feeling down.

But weed helps, and it’s a healthier alternative to alcohol that won’t leave you with a hangover tomorrow.

The ten products in this blog are hand-selected by our Muskegon dispensary budtenders. They’ll help you get through the holiday season and the rest of 2020 (and beyond) without losing your peace of mind.

1. Brandy: Dixie Tropic Twist Gummies

“I love Dixie’s Tropic Twist gummies because they give the perfect body high and erase the day’s stress.”

4. Craig: Terpene Tanks Blueberry Yum Yum Maxx Pod

“Blueberry Yum Yum is delicious. A lot of Timber’s staff agrees it’s the best tasting vape they’ve come across. It gives more of a psychoactive head high than full-body effects, but it’s balanced and won’t put you to sleep so you can vape throughout the day.”

5. Dwan: Pleasantrees Tiki Rain

“Tiki Rain is a great afternoon smoke for someone who isn’t looking for the biggest buzz. It’s also perfect for people who are smoking on-the-go. If you’re into lower THC percentages, Tiki Rain is for you. It’s one smooth smoke.”

Fwaygo Super Sour Berry Gummies

6. Kristen: Fwaygo Super Sour Berry

“I was lethargic and not in the best mood on the day I first experienced Super Sour Berry. But after consuming, I was in a great mood. Super Sour Berry provides a balanced high – it’s not an intense body or head high; it sits squarely in the middle. It’s considered a Sativa, but it gives a subtle boost, nothing too intense. I felt mentally clear and in control. I always suggest Fwaygo’s Super Sour Berry to customers looking for something mild, but with a high that makes you giggle.”

7. Bri: Healing Organic Garden’s Motorbreath

“Motorbreath, to me, has a gas flavor with pleasant citrus hints. The high left me intensely couch-locked. It was chill, but I certainly noticed the strain’s “dream” effects. It also put me to sleep after about an hour of couch-locked relaxation, and before I knew it, I rose from my flower-induced coma feeling refreshed.”

8. Sasha: Choice Cinnamon Breath Spray

“Choice Cinnamon Breath Spray is considered an indica-leaning product, and it lived up to those characteristics. The spray chilled me out and put me in the mood for restful sleep. Because it’s sublingual, it hits your system quickly and almost instantly makes you feel relaxed. I also love that the product is discreet and can be easily concealed in a purse or bag.”

9. Craig: Element Extractions Strawberry OG Pure Live Cartridge

“There aren’t many real live resin cartridges on the market, but Element’s Pure Live carts check every box. The taste is great, and the high is incredibly clean and airy. I can still get the day’s tasks done while consuming Strawberry OG Pure; it’s become my vaping go-to.”

Detroit Fudge Company Brownie - Edible 190mg THC

10. Landus: Detroit Fudge Company Brownie

“The taste of this brownie is on-point. It tastes so good that you need to be careful not to eat the entire brownie in one sitting. I like to eat a little before  going to bed, and I quickly drift off for a night of uninterrupted sleep and never wakeup feely foggy.”

Bonus Product:

Jeff: Helping Friendly Salve, Orange Lavie

“My hands get cracked and dried during winter’s coldest months, and most hand lotions leave a gross film, smell horrid, or don’t do the trick. The Helping Friendly Salve not only works great and smells incredible, but it also works immediately. I’ll buy this product for life!”

The Most Common Alternative Cannabis Products at Your Michigan Dispensary

Our exploration of the four most common alternative cannabis products available to Michigan provisioning center customers.

Many Michigan dispensary customers are exploring less familiar cannabis products, like topicals, tinctures, and drinkables. We want to get you acquainted with these new cannabis consumption methods, so we put together this helpful guide.

Get to know the four most common alternative cannabis products at your Michigan provisionary.

What are cannabis topicals?

Topicals are cannabis products applied directly to the skin to relieve ailments like inflammation, muscle soreness, and joint pain.

How do topicals work?

With cannabis lotions, balms, massage oils, and bath salts, cannabinoids like THC and CBD penetrate the skin’s upper layers and bind with your endocannabinoid receptors. Most topicals offer localized effects, so they don’t get you high.

On the other hand, transdermal patches, which are also considered topicals (they’re applied to the skin), can get you high if they contain THC. Cannabinoids in transdermal patches pass through the skin and into the bloodstream, offering systemic benefits. Muskegon provisioning center customers can experience THC and CBD’s effects for up to 12 hours with a transdermal patch.

How do I choose a topical?

Check the active ingredients.

THC works well for localized pain, like muscle soreness, but it doesn’t work well for inflammation. CBD, on the other hand, helps reduce inflammation, especially when combined with THCA.

Investigate the purity.

Avoid topicals made with cannabis grown using pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. Look for cannabinoids extracted using ethanol or CO2 – these solvents don’t leave harmful residues behind.

Make sure it’s strong enough.

Look for at least 10 mg of cannabinoids per usage or 250 mg per ounce.

What are tinctures?

Tinctures are alcohol-based cannabis extracts. They come in small glass bottles with a dropper for precise dosing. As you might already know, accurate dosing is essential for cannabis microdosing.

Tinctures are discreet, and you’ll feel the effects in as little as 15 minutes if you drop the liquid under your tongue.

How do I choose a tincture?

THC to CBD ratio:

You can buy tinctures with THC or CBD on their own or purchase a product with both. Tinctures with a higher CBD ratio will offer a less psychoactive experience and vice versa.

CBD: full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, or pure isolate?

Full-spectrum contains CBD and all other terpenes and cannabinoids, including THC. Broad-spectrum is similar, but it’s THC-free. Pure isolate contains CBD only.

Some Michigan dispensary visitors choose full or broad-spectrum CBD for the entourage effect – the theory that cannabinoids work better when consumed together.

How do tinctures work?

You can consume tinctures in one of the following ways:

Add drops under your tongue and hold for at least 30 seconds. The cannabinoids are absorbed directly into your bloodstream through the membranes in your mouth. To maximize the benefits, don’t eat or drink anything for 15 minutes after.

Add to food and drinks:

Add drops to your coffee or dessert. The effects are similar to consuming edibles or drinkables.

Add drops directly to the skin where you’re experiencing pain and rub in the liquid.

Check the concentration listed on the bottle to find your appropriate dose. The strength of the solution determines how much THC or CBD is in each drop or dropper. With THC, first-timers should start with 1 to 2.5 mg and wait at least 6 hours before consuming more.

What are drinkables?

Drinkables are cannabis-infused beverages. And they come in various forms like cannabis-infused sodas, teas, waters, and even cold brew coffee.

Cannabeverages (as they’re also known) appeal to Michigan provisionary customers because the experience is similar to drinking a glass of wine without the next-day hangover.

How do drinkables work?

Cannabinoids in drinkables are absorbed through membranes in the mouth so that the effects can kick in just 15 minutes. The rest of the active compounds travel through the digestive system and into the bloodstream, taking effect in the same way as edibles.

How do I choose a drinkable?

Drinkables contain THC or CBD, and often a mixture of both.

THC levels begin around 0.5mg and top out around 10 mg, while CBD levels begin about 1 mg and go up to 20 mg. If you’re combining the two cannabinoids, choose a ratio that works for you. But, at the end of the day, when it comes to selecting a cannabeverage, it’s all about flavor and beverage style. Choose your own adventure.

Methods to Consume Cannabis

What are the Different Methods of Enjoying Recreational Cannabis in Michigan

There’s an ideal cannabis consumption method for every adult Michigander.

There are a lot of ways to enjoy weed. Sometimes the options overwhelm even seasoned consumers. But we love simplicity – so, with that in mind, here’s an overview of popular choices for enjoying Michigan’s recreational cannabis, including recent innovations and old school methods.

Let’s start with the most traditional method: dried, cured, but otherwise untouched cannabis flower. Because sharing a joint or pipe with friends is a time-honored social ritual, and solo smoke sessions are excellent for self-reflection.

What are the advantages of raw cannabis flower to Michiganders?

There’s a vast selection of strains containing different terpenes that produce a range of flavors and effects. Flower is also simple and straightforward.

How do Michigan dispensary customers consume flower?

You’ve got a few options.

Grind it, roll it, smoke it.

For a classic cannabis experience, grind your flower, roll a joint, and smoke – either alone or with friends. You can find a step-by-step guide to rolling a joint here. It takes practice, but that’s part of the fun.

If rolling a joint isn’t your thing, you can have the same experience with prerolls from our Muskegon provisioning center. Our prerolls are rolled to perfection and burn evenly every time.

Pipes and bongs.

Pipes and bongs are also classic cannabis consumption styles. Pipes are quick and straightforward; bongs hit heavy, but there’s more work involved.

Here’s how it works (forgive us if you already know):

Pipe – place ground weed in the bowl, ignite with flame and inhale.

Bong – fill the bong’s chamber with enough water to cover the downstem, grind your weed, pack the bowl (just like you did with your pipe), ignite with flame, and slowly inhale as you pull the bowl from the downstem to clear the chamber.

Cannabis concentrates are potent and come from cannabinoids extracted from the plant. When we say potent, we mean it – the THC content of cannabis flower maxes out at around 28%. In contrast, cannabis concentrates can go all the way up to 90%.

What are the advantages to Michigan’s dispensary customers who consume concentrates?

Concentrates get you higher, faster. Some consumers love the flavor of concentrates, while others enjoy the instant, powerful high.

How do Michigan dispensary customers consume concentrates?

Concentrates are safe and potent but require specific consumption tools. You’ll need a dab rig, a dab nail – either titanium, quartz, or ceramic – and a torch to dab. To vape concentrates, you’ll need a vaporizer or vape pen.

Here’s how dabbing works:

Heat the dab nail with your torch, and apply the concentrate directly to the hot surface, instantly turning it into an inhalable vapor.

Vape pens and vaporizers are simple-to-use, easy-to-dose, and a little easier on the lungs.

What are the advantages of vaping concentrates for Michigan’s dispensary customers?

Vaping creates vapor without combustion by heating cannabis concentrate. It’s easier on the lungs, and the cannabis fragrance dissipates quickly, which is handy if discretion is important.

How to vape:

You can use three types of products to vape: vape pens, and tabletop or portable vaporizers.

Vape pens vaporize cannabis distillates and oils. They work electronically: a battery connects to a heating element, which heats up the oil or distillate inside the chamber

Most tabletop and portable vaporizers vaporize flower, but some portable vaporizers can also vape concentrates (budder and shatter).

Edibles and Cannabis Drinks

From brownies to gummies, infused sodas to cannabis oil capsules, the list of enhanced foods and drinks grows bigger every year. There’s even a cannabis cooking show on Netflix

What are the advantages to Michigan dispensary customers who consume edibles and drinkables?

Edibles taste great, and they’re perfect for people who don’t smoke, dab, or vape, but still want the benefits of THC and CBD. Edibles are discreet, and you can enjoy them in a social setting.

How do Michigan dispensary customers consume edibles?

Remember the golden rule with edibles: start low and go slow. With edibles, THC is metabolized by the liver, which means it can take between 30 minutes to two hours or more for the effects to kick in. Beginners should start with a low dosage (2.5 mg or less), wait, and see how they feel before taking any more.

Keep in mind; edibles will make you feel higher for longer. The effects can last as long as four hours.

You can buy edibles and cannabis drinks from our Muskegon provisioning center, or make them yourself using cannabis butter or cannabis cooking oil.

Cannabis Tinctures

Like edibles, tinctures are consumed orally, but they work a little differently.

With tinctures, THC is suspended in an alcohol base and absorbed sublingually, which means they’re held in the mouth and absorbed through the membranes under the tongue.

What are the advantages of consuming tinctures to Michigan’s dispensary customers?

Because THC is absorbed directly into the bloodstream, the effects take hold within 15 minutes – faster than edibles.

And tinctures are discrete and easy-to-dose. THC concentrations are listed on the container, so you can figure out how many milligrams of THC is in each dropper.

How do Michigan dispensary customers consume tinctures?

It’s simple – just place a few drops of the infused liquid beneath your tongue using the supplied dropper. You can also add a drop to your foods and drinks.

You’ll find a large selection of cannabis tinctures at our Michigan provisioning centers, including different strengths and ratios.
